Fashion shoot for ToffeeApple

Today armed with a camera and my accessories, I followed fashion designer Margaret Lokmer of ToffeeApple around the beaches of Sydney’s South to photograph mini fashionista Anna-Marija as she sports the latest and greatest fashions of the Summery season.

Photos to be released with permission of Margaret when designs are ready to be released … stay tuned!

Little Olivia turns 1

Little Olivia who I only met for the first time some months before when I was photographing her Blessing Day has just turned one, and with thanks to her parents, Renee and Adam, I was invited back into their lives to capture another milestone in little Olivia’s life -  turning one.

There were a few set backs to the event, including a change of date given it was first scheduled during Sydney’s heatwave that first week of February. It was postponed to the following week to be in a beautiful park setting, but this time mother nature teased us with the morning onset of rain which forced the party to be held at their home.

Little Olivia, we wish you all the very best for your first birthday and hope to celebrate many more birthdays and special occasions with you going forward.

A day at the beach is child’s play … especially wearing ToffeeApple clothing.

Photoshoot for the 2012 UNSW Engineering Prospectus

Over two evenings had the opportunity to meet a number of students, ex students and a professor of the faculty of Engineering at the University of New South Wales.

Hmmm … not sure how to get the gallery pics to show the whole or an appropriate part of the image in the little thumbnail. Hope anyone visiting this site realises that I didn’t chop off their heads! :)

Can’t wait to pick up a copy of the prospectus ;)

Maree & Terry bring their children to the park for some click click click’ing :)

On a hot Saturday morning, this beautiful family – headed by Terry and Maree – ventured to a park in Sydney’s South where I got to photograph them. The kids were adorable, with their beautiful curly hair and big brown eyes that they get from their gorgeous mummy. Both while photographing the family and later processing the images I was blown away at how similar and strong the family resemblance is – it is u n b e l i e v a b l e! So cute! Those big brown eyes are just gorgeous (oh dear, think I am repeating myself now). xx

14 day old Audrey

Audrey pictured here is only 14 days old, and quite the cutie pie! She is a squishable delight, with lots of lovely little squishy bits to cuddle (and yes, I got a cuddle!!!)

Poor little thing was so unsettled today, especially being her 2 week growth spurt (all the symptoms were right on cue).

(Apparently) betrothed to my own 10 month old nephew, I will be keeping my eye on this little darling … that’s for sure! ;)

Baby Olivia’s Blessing Day :)

The weekend weather had threatened to be cold, rainy and miserable but instead the sun’s golden rays beamed across the sands of Carrs Park as I photographed little baby Olivia and all those that gathered to celebrate her special day with her and her lovely parents, Renee and Adam. What a wonderful way to start and spend the day!

It was such a beautiful and interesting experience to be a part of. I had not been to anything like this before. The flowing white garments, surrounding symbolism and beautiful moments created a unique and lasting memory for me. It was obvious that so much love, care and effort had been put into the organising and running of the morning. It was well worth it from where I was sitting ,with the start of the show, little Olivia, having a wonderful time as she was oohed and ahhed by all those who came to show their love for her by sharing her special day.

Wishing little Olivia a very long, happy, healthy and blessed life.

Renee and Adam, thank you for the opportunity to meet and work with you, your family and your friends.

Group Shots for the UNSW

Today I went to the UNSW to capture two group shots for them for their nearly finished mining students. It was a very quick job and here are the two final photos submitted to the hirer.

Not much to say about this job, as it really was very quick. In any case, hope the photos do the talking for me on this one.

Invited back to the University of NSW

This time it was to photograph THREE events on the one day/night for the University of NSW (UNSW) school of Mining. The three events included

  1. The official launch of the LIME website
  2. Memorial lecture
  3. Annual dinner and book launch

This event was so much fun. So many really lovely and interesting people. It is always so nice to photograph people at events that are willing to be photographed. Makes such a big difference to the general mood of the event, I feel.

The official launch of the LIME website was really good. Was nice to see the people who worked on establishing it, and who are currently working on it.

There is not much I can say about the the memorial lecture, as it was about mining and beyond my understanding (in truth, I didn’t even try … of course – I was concentrating on the photography component at this time).

With respect to the annual dinner, it must be said that two of the speakers gave stand out speeches. They were hilarious, engaging and extremely interesting – even for me and Dennis – probably amongst only a small handful of non-mining trained people in the room that evening. The skill and ability to give a great speech always interests me. Embarrassingly though, my hands began to cramp as it was after 9pm when the speeches went on and I had already been photographing for about 5 hours at that point. I handed the camera to Dennis and was flicking my hands hoping to loosen them. The speaker stopped, looked at me and asked if I was trying to hurry him up! Luckily, it was a warm and friendly crowd, and the speaker even more so – I was able to tell him to proceed with his speech. Some what embarrassing on my part. Something I *wont* do in the future (you live and learn). :)

Having started at 4:10pm, by 10:30pm when our services ended we were completely knackered.

*** Images of these events will be posted as soon as release form is received from the event organiser.

Our first paid corporate event at the University of NSW Donor Reception

Tonight we were a team and both welcomed the opportunity to photograph the University of NSW Donor Reception for the faculty of Engineering. It was an interesting night with some 260 donors, students, parents and staff in attendance. It was a cocktail party.

We were extremely grateful for the opportunity, and based on the feedback provided and follow on work that was booked as a result of working on this event, we did a good job. :D

Note, we are unable to upload images from this event that identify any students, so we have decided to play it safe and not upload any from this event just to be safe and not in breach of any term or condition.
