Voting Day Photoshoot

Today I headed to Rockdale park and photographed parents Paul and Carolyn with their three cute little children: Two little girls, Miss L and Miss J, and their newest edition Master S.

We had a lot of fun together, with the girls being so very cooperative. Their little personalities were so cute and made it very fun for me to work with with them, as they made me laugh as we went on with the shoot. They were all smiles and very eager to help when I asked them to help me out and hold their little baby brother.

Thank you for such a lovely, friendly experience :)

Sarah’s 2nd Birthday

Today our good friends hired us (in exchange for continued friendship) to photograph their little girls second birthday party which they hosted at their newly bought home.

We had a lovely day, photographing, chatting, eating, chatting, photographing, eating … ;)

Our own children, Damien and Kellie, also did alright! They played out in the backyard with the other kids and had an absolute ball. Somethings are just priceless. There is no price too great for the happiness of children. One of their highlights was throwing glitter and incy-wincy-tiny pieces of shiny things up in the air! It … went … everywhere!!!! But gosh the giggles and laughter that came with it were so worth it. Gosh they all seemed to have so much fun with teenager Samantha who looked after the kids so well, playing games with them and making a huge mess of the back yard that would take hours to give up after the party!

There were many good conversations and fun things happening, but the most delicious event of the day came when it was time to sing Happy Birthday to Sarah and out came these delightful, scrumptious, yummy mini coconut and lime muffins. With a mum who is a qualified pastry chef, I need not tell you just how yummy these were … but … I will. Oh my golly gosh, sooooooo good!!!!!!! Given they really were mini, I managed to get a few in.  Mmmmm ….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SARAH! So happy that we could share your special day with you.

Love,

Uncle Dennis, Aunty Mel, Damien and Kellie xox

What we did AFTER visiting the Sydney Camera Market

Dennis with DJThis photo was taken in the library next door to the where the Sydney Camera Market was being held. There was a fabulous blue fabric against the whole of one of the walls, making for a an even more fabulous backdrop out in natural light. What more could you ask for?! I love it. Such beautiful, even, natural light.

After visiting the Sydney Camera Markets we decided to make the most of our mood to “click” and grab some nice new pics of our own dear little ones. Ironically we started our business to take MORE photos of our children, however have found the opposite to happen. Aghhhh … anyways … going to get on top of that one quick smart!!!

I am not really sure what street we were on from memory, but we were either in or near Pyrmont. The background was lovely, as I really love sandstone and the older style of building as they add character to photos.

We had a lot of fun taking these shots, as the kids pranced around being silly and posing. Made for a really lovely afternoon.

There was skipping, reading of newspapers, laughing, a spot of friendly tears, but mostly there was …

smiles,

smiles,

smiles!!!

Just the way it should be :)

A beautiful day for a natural looking corporate head shot

Thank you Randa for hiring Capture It Sydney and allowing us to take some head shots of you for use in the promotional material for your business.

We started off our shoot at Maroubra beach but being near the water in July meant that we were soon freeezzzinnnggg – Randa more than me, as I was all rugged up in a lovely fleecy jacket, while poor Randa braved the cold and windy weather in a (gorgeous!) light summery dress. When it got way too cold we headed to Randa’s home to finish off the shoot (and have a great chat).

Her daughter Emahly came to provide mum with moral support, so used that as an opportunity to snap a couple of mother-daughter images. They are just gorgeous!

Thanks again for the opportunity, and the time spent with you – I had fun! :)

A wedding to remember …

Together Alone ;)… You could say it was our first wedding, and for this already married couple that would not be a word of a lie …

On Saturday, 17th of July 2010 we experienced our first paid wedding job as photographers and let me tell you, we were just as excited as we were on our OWN wedding day. Bought as an amazing gift from their friends, Ben and Claire, we were hired to capture the special first moments as Donnie and Enisa became Mr and Mrs Burke.

We are absolutely thrilled with the results.

Congratulations Donnie and Enisa, Dennis and I are very grateful to have shared your special day with you. Wishing you a long and happy marriage.

And now, we Blog …

You’d think that the world would be be saturated with all things Capture It Sydney. What, with a website, Facebook business page, Twitter account and now … this! A blog … who will read it, I wonder!

In any case, there is no better time to create this blog than this week … Capture It Sydney’s 7 days of diversity … We had a product shoot on Wednesday past, we are doing a wedding tomorrow morning and then on Tuesday we have an adult portrait session. What a wonderful, diverse week. So I suppose the timing is only fitting to diversify our presence on the big bad web with yet another tool to (hopefully) promote our Sydney based photography business!

Welcome to our world. We are Dennis and Melanie – husband and wife – photographer and photographer … working together on a dream.

We specialise in portraiture’s – adult, children and group … however also offer our services wherever needed. We’ll try (almost) anything at least once. Why not contact us to see if we can help you :)
